"Explosive News" is the student-run newsletter for T. N. Tatem Middle School. For each issue, a topic is proposed and comments from the staff and students are collected. One topic of interest was aimed at finding out exactly what people thought and felt about school uniforms. Here are some of the responses:

"Ties on girls are mug" – Khadijah S., student

"I think that girls shouldn't wear ties, because they are for boys. I also think that girls should wear school-coloured scarves as a part of our winter uniform" – Kierra S., student

"I know that you need to be in complete uniform, but I think that you should not get detentions for losing ties" – Hzsaiah R., student
