In November, Restoration House Ministries International celebrated two decades of evangelism.

Founder Eugenia Robinson started the organisation only three months after she dedicated her life to God.

“My initial goal was to provide a safe place where those who need to be restored can come,” she said. “I help women to restore their lost visions and manifest their dreams through professional, personal and spiritual development so they may live a prosperous life.”

Based on her own experience, she understood that new Christians needed to have a safe and loving environment.

“I attended Sunday school and church as a young child up to the age of about 17,” she said. “After becoming pregnant, I left the church. I returned 18 years later, in 1999.

“One of the deepest moments I can remember is feeling like God took me back. He did not forget me. He restored me in such a way that I did not feel like a stranger to Him. My restoration process took a lot of work and commitment. I fought for spiritual stability.”

It’s what she has kept in mind in her efforts to create experiences that might nurture people on their Christian walk.

“Throughout the years of ministry, I have hosted conferences and events which aim to empower, educate and inspire. It started with girl sleepovers and evolved into weeklong revivals and three-day conferences with local and international speakers.

“In 2017 I partnered with The Anglican Church of Bermuda to host the 24-hour community prayer room. This year marked our fourth year as we transitioned to an online model.”

Aside from these events, Ms Robinson uses social media to connect with her audience and other like-minded believers. Like many other organisations, 2020 encouraged Restoration House Ministries to develop a more visible online presence.

Ms Robinson is live on Facebook, YouTube and Periscope every Monday through Friday at 6am. During these virtual sessions she prays with and for her audience and shares spiritual encouragement.

As she looks towards the future, she has high hopes for Restoration House Ministries. Aside from sharing the love of God, her plans include empowering the community through coaching and education.

“[I also want to open] membership from the ministry to engage and grow a community of believers and establish Restoration House Ministries International as a prophetic, evangelist and global ministry. I’m also planning the reopening of an alternative Christian education facility.

“Ever since our ministry was established, we have endeavoured to meet both the spiritual and charitable needs of our local community. Now the goal is to go global.”

The most rewarding part of the journey is seeing others come to Christ and fulfil their calling in ministry,” she added.

“To see the lightbulb go on with believers who realise that ministry is not just for those in the pulpit but for them also. That is a special feeling.”
