Bank names top executive
position of senior vice president, private clients Americas, effective this October. He will also join the executive committee of the bank.
Mr. Howard joins BOB from Barclays Private Bank in London, where he was regional director for Europe and the Americas.
In Bermuda, Mr. Howard will be responsible for the development of the bank's private client business in the North American region, including Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.
Mr. Howard earned his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Modern Languages from Bristol University in 1987.
COLVIN NAMED TREMONT COO APP Colvin named Tremont COO Investment concern Tremont Advisors has hired Barry Colvin for the post of chief operating officer, a spot previously held by Robert Schulman, who will remain president.
Mr. Colvin, who will be in charge of Bermuda as part of his remit, will receive a base salary of $275,000 as part of his employment, plus an annual bonus of at least $200,000 and 100,000 options, according to an 8-K filing.
Also under the agreement, Mr. Colvin will purchase $25,000 of Tremont's Class B common stock in the open market before December 31, and has agreed to pay the company $50,000 in damages should he leave the firm before Jan. 1, 2002.
Mr. Colvin will report to Mr. Schulman, the filing said. Mr. Colvin, as COO, will oversee the following functions: manager research, marketing, data collection worldwide, Tremont Products, customer service, Bermuda operations, information technology and project management.
WALSH CO-COO OF GLOBAL CROSSING APP Walsh co-COO of Global Crossing Global Crossing this week announced that David A. Walsh has been named co-chief operating officer, sales and maketing. Walsh had previously been serving as executive vice president of the divsion.
Gary Cohen, who shares the title of co-COO, retains his current responsibilities for regional and network operations, marine operations, construction, technology and provisioning.
