Olatunji Gardiner, of St. Monica's Road, Pembroke pleaded guilty in Magistrates' court to owning the dogs which caused injury to a neighbour's dog on September 23 this year.
The canine victim died the next day from extensive bite wounds to its back, belly, neck and thighs.
Yesterday, Crown Counsel Larry Mussenden told Senior Magistrate Will Francis the dog warden was satisfied the two dogs would be secured in kennels in the future.
And Mr. Francis told Gardiner that although it was his right to keep dogs, the Island's crowded conditions meant securing the animals should be a prime concern.
"You are very fortunate that these dogs didn't do more damage, perhaps to a little child,'' he added.
