Man wounded his ex-girlfriend
recent involving an attack on his ex-girlfriend earlier this week.
Arnold Shawn Astwood, 22, of Khyber Heights, pleaded guilty to unlawfully entering the St. David's home of his ex-girlfriend Shakara Richardson, 20, and unlawfully wounding her.
He also admitted assaulting another ex-girlfriend back in 1993, and unlawfully wounding a man by cutting his face and chest with a knife earlier this year.
Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp called Astwood "a very violent person for such a young man,'' and adjourned the matter for a social inquiry report.
Astwood, who was remanded in custody, is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on April 28.
Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant told the court that, in this week's incident, Richardson was forced to flee through a bathroom window after Astwood entered her bedroom.
But Astwood caught up with her and punched her in the face, knocked her down six steps, then continued to punch and kick her.
During the assault she fell and hit her head, said Sgt. Grant.

"I am willing to pay the money back given a chance,'' he added.
The charges stemmed from incidents in which he obtained $1,275 from various Island locations last November and December.
He asked that six other similar charges be taken into consideration. None of the money has been recovered.
Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp adjourned the case for a social inquiry report.
"I've learned a lesson and it doesn't pay to be involved in drug abuse,'' said Simmons.
He will return to court on April 25 for sentencing. Bail was set at $1,000 plus a like surety.
