Bailey’s Bay 87Southampton Rangers, 92 for twoSouthampton Rangers dumped handed defending champions Bailey’s Bay an eight-wicket defeat in their semi-final match at Lords in St David’s on Saturday.Batting first, Bay were skittled out for a poultry 87 runs, with youngster Lateef Trott top scoring with 18, while Rodney Trott (16) and opener Damon Edwards (18) setting their side up for a strong total.There were 15 extras that contributed to the Bay total, while Dion Stovell and Derrick Brangman took three wickets apiece.In reply, Rangers only needed 14.1 overs to reach their target, with Kwame Tucker (30) hitting four fours and two sixes, and Stovell hitting five fours in his 25 not out.Opener Dean Richards was also not out on 14. Lateef Trott and Kyle Hodsoll took one wicket each.Willow Cuts 123St. David’s 126-7St David’s made things hard in their win over Willow Cuts at Somerset Cricket Club in their semi-final match.Winning the toss and sending Cuts to bat, St David’s went on the offensive from the outset, with only Malachi Jones (38) and Ricardo Brangman Jjr (24) being the only two batsmen to put their head down and prod away.Delyone Borden and former Cuts bowler George O’Brien Jr both grabbed four wickets to leave themselves with a very manageable 123 to get for victory.In their chase, skipper OJ Pitcher would top score with 31, while Loren Marshall put in 20 for his club.Deunte Darrell was the pick of the Cuts bowlers, claiming three wickets, David Adams grabbed two and Kevon and Sheroy Fubler took one wicket each.
