US visitors foil armed robbery
them off.
A Police spokesman said a visiting Indiana couple and the wife's sister were walking along Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke when they were confronted by a man around 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The man, who had emerged from the Barr's Bay Park area, was wielding a knife and demanded property from the visitors. Police said the husband pushed the man aside and the would-be robber calmly walked off along Pitts Bay Road without any stolen goods.
The man was described as white, five-foot eight-inches tall, of solid build, was wearing a red open-face crash helmet, a dark jacket and dark-coloured long pants. The visitors said the man did not have a Bermudian accent.
Several people were questioned by Police and investigations were continuing.
