Pembroke man who admitted assaulting his wife.

On Friday, 36-year-old Vincent Sanders pleaded guilty to assaulting Rosemary Sanders and using threatening words on August 19.

Mr. Francis told Sanders he was free to leave the court, but warned him about returning for any other offences within the next year.

Crown counsel Charmaine Smith had told Mr. Francis that Sanders confronted his wife at their Pitts Bay Road home at 2.45 p.m.

He repeatedly asked her if she knew a man named Humphrey. Mrs. Smith said Sanders' wife admitted knowing the man, but only through her husband.

Sanders slapped her several times and eventually took off his helmet and swung it at her, striking her upraised hands.

She fled, returning a half hour later to find Sanders still enraged. He also kicked her. She escaped, calling the Police from a nearby pay phone.
