April 16, 2012Dear Sir,Even if it turns out that Mr Pearman is not in breach of the Employment Act (refer to section 32 of the Act — having a legal right to lay-off an employee during a time of economic distress) — it was extremely unprofessional and downright distasteful to have served Miss Burgess with notice while she was on the air. I commend her for questioning her rights concerning her employment. Too many times injustices slip through the cracks because the person in question does not inform themselves of the law and does not fight for their rights. Hopefully this will come to a fair conclusion. If HOTT 107.5 continues to hire, during a time of ‘economic distress’, meanwhile laying off Miss Burgess, they most definitely have shown their true colours.
