FedEx signs too big for Bda!
pronto....
For the blue and orange trademark signs -- carried by the firm's vehicles and planes all over the world -- are too big for Bermuda's tastes.
Transport Control Department chief Donald Dane last night confirmed the international carrier had been ordered to remove the logos from the five vans operated in Bermuda.
He said: "Signs on trucks can't be any bigger than 15 centimetres -- theirs are much bigger than that. When I saw one I couldn't believe it.'' Mr. Dane added that the mix-up happened because the firm's trucks were examined before the signs were put on.
He said: "The Federal Express vehicles are intermediate trucks and we don't have to pass them with the signs on, although a light truck must have a sign on it.'' No-one from the Hamilton office of Federal Express was available for comment last night -- although a staff member did confirm the offending logos had been taken off the trucks.
Mr. Dane added: "I think the news came as a surprise -- it's a world-wide sign and this is the only country where it's not permitted.'' BIG ISN'T BEAUTIFUL! -- The world-wide FedEx logo of Federal Express -- too big for Bermuda's strict rules on signs attached to commercial vehicles.
