A seven storey office, retail and residential block is to be built in Parliament Street.

The Development Applications Board has approved the building on the site of a one-storey retail structure next to Hamilton Pharmacy.

It currently houses the Beauty Within retail shop and Digital Electronic Security Ltd.

The development, Magnolia Towers, has been designed by architects Linberg and Simmons and will cover 15,000 sq ft.

The ground floor will house a retail unit, with floors two to five designated as office space and the upper two storeys set back from the street to accommodate a one-bedroom apartment on each level.
