Tropical Storm stays well to Bermuda’s south

Tropical Storm Chantal is expected to bring rain and wind to the Caribbean this week, but is not expected to approach Bermuda.Chantal, the third named storm of the Hurricane Season, was 1,382 miles to Bermuda’s southeast last night and drifting west-northwest.According to the Bermuda Weather Service, the storm’s closest point of approach in the next three days will be 842 miles to Bermuda’s south on Thursday.Chantal, which had winds of about 45 miles per hour (75kph) yesterday as it swirled 390 miles east-southeast of Barbados, is not forecast to strengthen into a hurricane.l For more on Chantel, see story on Page 22
