Hundreds of people marched from Victoria Park to Parliament this afternoon to present Government with “the people’s manifesto”

The march was organised by The People’s Campaign For Equality, Jobs and Justice, a newly-formed pressure group calling for an overhaul of how Governments operate.

“Government cannot continue implementing policies that do not have the people’s interest at heart,” speaker Rev Nicholas Tweed said before the march got underway.”

After arriving at the House of Assembly, the crowd was met by Premier Craig Cannonier who was presented with the group’s manifesto.

Mr Cannonier, who met with the group last week, said Cabinet will review the group’s proposals.

Opposition leader Marc Bean, who was also present, said: “The time for complaining is over. It’s time to cooperate and complete.”
