Lindsay Sousa and Joe Vieira were the biggest winners during the last round of harness racing at Vesey Street.Both drivers won three heats with different ponies to cap a memorable weekend at the race track.Sousa swept both heats in the 1:06/1- 1:07/1 time bar with Mr Indiana and also won a heat in the 1:08/3-1:10/3 time bar with Imagine That.Vieira swept both heats in the 1:07/2-1:08/2 time bar with Cherokee Kibbitz and also won a heat with Down Home Punch in the 1:05-1:06 time bar.Vieira also claimed the winner’s purse after being declared the fastest driver on average time in the 1:07/2-1:08/2 time bar in the Bermuda Cablevision Friday Night Series.Colin Mello and track record holder, Big Red Machine, clocked last weekend’s fastest time (1:05/2) competing in the Free for All. Mello also claimed the winner’s purse on average time in the 1:04/4 and Faster time bar in the Cablevision series.Other multiple heat winners included Philip Correia, Chad Sutherland, Keira Whited and Keith Woodley.Correia was a heat winner in the Free for All with Cherokee’s Superman and won another heat with Hott Gossip in the 1:08/3-1:10/3 time bar.Sutherland’s Royal Winner lived up to its name after sweeping both heats in the 1:06/1-1:07/1 time bar.Whited swept both heats in the 1:10/4-1:12/4 time bar with Just Like That while Woodley’s Spirit Bruna’s swept both heats in the 1:15/1 and Slower time bar.Remaining series purse winners included Thomas Whited (1:08/3-1:10/3), CJ Whited (1:05-1:06), Vain Waldron (1:13-1:15), Woodley (1:15/1 & Slower), Kieira Whited (1:10/4-1:12/4) and Sutherland (1:06/1-1:07/1).
