Business journalist to take up insurance post
information services at the Bermuda Insurance Institute as of January 19.
He takes over from Roger Scotton, another former business journalist who has moved on to a new position at Bermuda-based insurer Exel Ltd.
Mr. Fox will be involved in the marketing and promotion of the Bermuda insurance industry and will be responsible to the Marketing Committee of the Insurance Advisory Committee (IAC).
His duties include implementing the Marketing Committee's existing initiatives and identifying new ones for the industry.
Mr. Fox leaves a long background in journalism that began in 1974 and has included work with Bermuda's broadcast and print media.
Chairman of the IAC Marketing Committee, Roger Gillett commented, "We are pleased to have David join the team involved in promoting Bermuda's rapidly expanding insurance market.
"His demonstrated talents in the media over many years will stand him in good stead for the challenges ahead.
"We are gratified to have found a Bermudian with such diverse contacts on, and outside the Island, and who also has such a wide knowledge of the local industry.'' Mr. Gillett said he wished Mr. Scotton the best in his future endeavours, and said, "Roger was the first person to fill the position of director of information services , and in effect, defined the position.
