Film screening to support Action on Alzhiemer’s and Dementia
Action on Alzheimer’s and Dementia will host a film screening as both a fundraiser and a means of raising awareness about therapeutic art treatment.‘I Remember Better When I Paint’, a documentary narrated by Olivia de Haviland, shows the impact that the creative arts can have on those afflicted with Alzheimer’s.In addition to the film screening, the charity will be displaying some of the art created by residents of the Matilda Smith and Westmeath nursing homes.Charity founder Elizabeth Stewart said the funds raised by the event will go towards continuing the charity’s Therapeutic Art Programme at both of the nursing homes.The event will take place at the TradeWinds Theatre at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on June 30 at 4pm.Tickets cost $10.
