Child pornography warning from police

Anyone caught with child pornography could face up to ten years in jail, police warned today.

A spokesman said: “Should you receive such images, do not share them.”

He added that people should instead contact police or the service’s vulnerable persons unit to report the images.

The spokesman told the public they should also “delete the images from your phone or other electronic device.”

He said that anyone convicted of possession or distribution of “child abusive material or pornography” faced between five and ten years behind bars.
