`Head hunters' hold Bermuda meeting
consultancies winds up a two day conference at the Southampton Princess Hotel today that has brought 30 top executives here from around the world.
The senior consultants represent firms that are part of a global network of companies that search for and place professional executives.
Representatives from member companies allied in The International Search Partnership (TISP) are here for their annual world meeting. They include representatives from the Norman Broadbent Group, the largest in New York and Chicago.
EuroSearch operates in Western Europe and Jenewein Consultants, based in Austria, operate for Eastern Europe.
Dr. Jean-Francois Jenewein, who heads up Jenewein Consultants, serves as an opposition member of Parliament in Austria for the Christian Democratic Party.
His wife and partner, Mrs. Rita Jenewein said, "The new expanding markets for executive search are Asia and Eastern Europe.'' The global consultants from TISP are very optimistic about the future, especially because there is a need for top executives in many companies in Eastern Europe and Asia. They are expecting a positive economic climate.
The annual meeting is used as a vehicle for comparing notes and this year's decision to have it here was suggested by Mr. Bill Clemens of the Norman Broadbent Group in the US who has been to Bermuda before. A major issue under discussion yesterday and today is cross-border business, as the companies work together to operate their own territories, often finding specialist directors and top executives for their partners in other parts of the world.
