The Corporation has also spent the year looking at the needs of homeless people and finding homes for people with AIDS.
Apart from building homes in Warwick and St. George's last year, it also provided finance towards the provision of a homeless shelter on North Street, Pembroke.
Housing Minister the Hon. Quinton Edness said declines in rents were accompanied by declines in income. "Affordability is therefore still a serious matter,'' he said.
"The demand for mortgages for first time owners to build their own homes remains greater than the land and economic resources available to meet it,'' he added.
The Corporation also reported applications for rental properties were being received at a rate of 50 per week.
Corporation staff are concerned over the levels of arrears, which stood at $458,700 at the end of last year. That is an increase of $47,700 on 1991.
