Ze Menfeskiduse Selassie had been imprisoned for six years two weeks ago for raping a woman in her Devonshire home after subduing her with a toxic substance.

Yesterday, 23-year-old Selassie appeared before Senior Magistrate Will Francis for breaching a two-year probation order made in May 1998. Mr. Francis explained that Selassie had broken his probation, given for prowling and two counts of breaking and entering, by committing the rape. However, the further two years' probation given yesterday will run concurrently with Selassie's two-year sentence.
