May 1, 2011Dear Sir,My family and I had decided to have a picnic at the Arboretum after the dog training classes and were totally surprised in seeing the two public toilets (at the entrance on Montpelier Road side) in such a deplorable state, with urine and human faeces on the seats and floors in both rest rooms; also no toilet paper or a water basin to wash one’s hands (if you were brave enough to use the facilities). It is absolutely disgusting to witness a public rest room left in such a state … Aren’t there cleaners that are getting paid to clean these areas daily? It was evident that these toilets hadn’t been attended to for quite some time. The Arboretum is a lovely park to go and have a picnic in, relax, walk, run, rump with the pets or children. The grounds are otherwise well cared for with the exception of these two toilets. Why aren’t there Rangers doing a frequent check on the various rest rooms throughout the Island? and if there are, well then, they evidently haven’t been there (the Arboretum) for a long time.RAYMOND RAYSt. George’s
