Mr. Brandel is one of 36 elected officials guiding the world's largest service club organisation.
A Police officer and member of the West Hempstead Lions Club since 1975, Mr.
Brandel is visiting with his wife, Dr. Maureen Murphy, who recently retired from the US Air Force and is practising at a community hospital.
Hamilton Lions' banquet will be held in The Reef Room of Elbow Beach Hotel, beginning at 8 p.m.
Lions Club International has 1.4 million members in 42,000 clubs in 180 countries and geographical areas.
MAN DENIES SEXUAL ASSAULT CTS Man denies sexual assault A 60-year-old Sandys Parish man denied sexually assaulting a woman when he appeared in Magistrates' Court this week.
He also pleaded not guilty to behaving in a threatening manner on March 9 in Sandys Parish.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis bailed the man in the sum of $1,000 on condition that he have no contact with the complainant until his trial on August 30.
HANDBAG STOLEN FROM UNLOCKED CAR CRM Handbag stolen from unlocked car A 34-year-old Pembroke woman, who left her car unlocked, returned minutes later to find her handbag missing.
The woman told Police she parked outside a business premises on Serpentine Road and left her car "for only five minutes''.
Her theft complaint was one of four made to Police on Monday.
INFLATION RATE HOLDS STEADY FIN Inflation rate holds steady The annual rate of inflation held steady at 2.4 percent over the last 12 months to March 1995, recently released figures show.
However, the highest monthly change -- brought about because of the increase in cigarette prices -- occurred in the tobacco and liquor sector which posted a 2.2 percent increase.
Meantime, the fuel and power sector was also up 0.8 percent due to a 0.9 percent increase in the cost of electricity.
The clothing and footwear section declined by 0.4 percent as a consequence of decreases in the price of selected men's and women's apparel.
THIEVES HIT HOMES IN FOUR PARISHES CRM Thieves hit homes in four parishes Police received eight reports of breaking and enterings in one day.
The incidents took place in Pembroke, Devonshire, Hamilton, and St. George's parishes.
Three of them happened on Monday night, three during the day, and two of them occurred over a two-to-three day period.
Televisions, a blanket, items of food and other property were taken during one of the breaking and enterings in Hamilton Parish.
POLICE REPORT NUMEROUS ASSAULTS CRM Police report numerous assaults Police are investigating several assaults which left students with injuries.
All of the incidents occurred on Monday.
The first incident left a 14-year-old Sandys Parish student with facial injuries after a 15-year-old Sandys youth assaulted the boy at the undisclosed school.
Police said in a separate incident a 19-year-old Hamilton Parish woman struck a 15-year-old female student with a stick during a fight at Middle Road in Smith's Parish.
The victim suffered bruising to various parts of her body when other persons became involved in the confrontation.
And in another incident, a 43-year-old man received "substantial'' injuries to his eye and face after he was attacked by a 28-year-old Hamilton Parish man.
The victim told Police he was kicked in the face during the unprovoked attack.
