Airline eyes Bermuda

Luxury flights linking Bermuda to North Carolina and London could be on the cards from early next year.

New Florida-based airline Fly First Class has announced that it is planning a service between Wilmington and Stansted Airport, London, stopping on the Island along the way.

Speaking to Star News, Wilmington, Darrel Richardson, chief executive officer of Fly First Class, said the service would operate twice a week, using a 90-seat Boeing 767 plane.

He added that the airline would offer a three-class service with personal video devices for all passengers, free drinks, and meals created by onboard chefs.

Wilmington Airport Director Jon Rosborough is reported to have said that Bermuda International Airport would not have to make too many changes to accommodate the new service, since it already has a jet bridge to handle a Boeing 767.

A Fly First Class spokeswoman said yesterday it was ?a bit premature? to discuss the plans, as they have not yet received final government approval.
