Opposition leader Kim Swan yesterday hailed the revamped Tucker's Point Club as a shining light for Bermudian resorts.

Pointing to a strong marketing presence established by the venue in key North American markets, Mr. Swan said it had "set a new standard in the Bermuda vacation experience".

In a press statement, Mr. Swan said he had stayed at the club with friends and was "totally impressed by the layout, furnishings, vistas and professionalism of the staff".

He praised the high proportion of Bermudians on the staff, adding: "Tucker's Point is on track to be one of the very best resorts in the world and, on this point it is something that Bermudians from all walks of life can regard with pride.

"Hundreds of them — builders, chefs, designers, masons and managers — have helped create something very special.
