Drugs charges denied
drugs with intent to supply and escaping lawful custody when he appeared in Supreme Court this week.
George Bremar, of Bushy Park Drive, pleaded not guilty in a Supreme Court arraignment session to possessing heroin and cannabis with intent to supply, possessing drug equipment -- a digital scale, spoon and two tiles -- and escaping from lawful custody on October 12, 1995.
Bremar is scheduled to stand trial on December 2. Lawyer Elizabeth Christopher appeared for Bremar who had his $10,000 bail extended.
Also appearing at Monday's arraignment session was 32-year-old Dannielle Kelsey Bezant who has previously denied 13 counts of stealalmost $500,000 from her then employer.
She also denied three counts of forging and Bank of Bermuda cheques and uttering them.
All of the offences allegedly took place between October, 1991 and October, 1994 while Bezant worked at Winter Cookson Petty Ltd.
Her case will be mentioned again on September 3.
In other cases: Leonard Franklin Wayne,27, was ordered to return to the Supreme Court on August 5 for sentencing for unlawfully wounding Lovell Gino Trott on August 25 with a machete.
Wayne was convicted on May 27 and has been in custody since, awaiting the completion of a social inquiry report.
Well-known powerboat racer Westmore (Andy) Stoneham, 33, of Southampton and Stacie Christine Thomas, 25, of New Jersey, also appeared yesterday in the Supreme Court where their case was adjourned for mention on October 1 when a trial date is to be set.
Stoneham and Thomas were charged with conspiring to import cocaine, importing it and possessing it with intent to supply.
All the charges related to August 26 and August 27 of last year.
