Tourists attacked in attempted robbery in public park on SaturdayAn American visitor was hit on the head with a blunt object in an attempted robbery in Par-La-Ville Park on Saturday.Police say the the 48-year-old victim and his friend were accosted by a local man near the public restroom facilities in Queen Street, at about 5.25pm.He struck one of the pair, causing a head wound which did not require hospital treatment, before a member of the public intervened. The victim’s friend, a 42-year-old man, was not injured and nothing was stolen during the incident.The suspect, a 37-year-old Devonshire man, was arrested, along with a 40-year-old Pembroke woman.Driver left scene after road cash on SundayA car was extensively damaged after crashing into a wall on North Shore Road, near Shelly Bay, in the early hours of Sunday.Police say the driver left the scene before they arrived following the accident at the road’s junction with Radnor Road, at about 7.30am.Witnesses should call Pc Witton Williams on 295-0011.Ministry to hold meeting on Health Plan todayThe Ministry of Health will host a public meeting on the National Health Plan 2011 Consultation Paper today.Government is putting the paper, which contains proposals for the reform of Bermuda’s health system, to the public for feedback, to be submitted before Saturday (April 30).The meeting, to be held at Francis Patton Primary School in Hamilton Parish at 6.30pm, will be attended by Health Minister Zane DeSilva and Bermuda Health Council CEO Jennifer Attride-Stirling.Useful websites: www.bhec.bm, www.gov.bm
