Running from 5.30pm until 9pm at RumBar, the ticket price includes one holiday-themed cocktail and light canapes. Victoria Grill is also offering a 10% discount off of dinner for anyone dressed in an ugly holiday sweater. There will be raffle draw and prizes for best/worst dressed.

It’s that time of year again – the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society (BMDS) presents Adventure In Pantoland from Thursday, December 8th to Saturday, December 17th.

Have you ever wondered where all the Pantomime characters live when they’re not performing in Pantomimes?

The answer is The Land of Make Believe where they play happily waiting for auditions to come around again. But now a nasty witch has cast a spell and they’ve lost their memories and can’t remember which Pantomime they belong too …. Oh no! But wait! Fairy Honeysuckle has come to the rescue and is taking our heroes through six pantomimes to find out where they belong. However an evil witch and her silly sidekick are determined to thwart her plan…….. Oh no!

Adventure in Pantoland, by Alan P Frayn and directed by Laura Bardgett, is a fun filled, old fashioned celebration of Pantomime complete with lots of audience participation, traditional characters and some really bad jokes. Seven different storylines are visited including Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and Cinderella along with the traditional song sheet and silly skit! They even have a Pantomime cow!

Showtime is at 7pm from December 8th until December 17th, with 2pm matinee performances on December 10th, 11th and 17th. There will be no evening performance on Sunday, December 11th.

Christmas is fast approaching, so join the Home Grown Alternatives Market for Bermuda’s premier shopping event, now in its 21st year, on Saturday, December 10th.

Starting 10am at St. Paul’s on Middle road, there you can find top quality, hand-made goods by Bermudian artists.

There will be approximately 28 vendors, amongst whom, you are bound to find that perfect gift idea. There will be edible treats, art, jewellery, ceramics, glass, cedar, plants, cards, knitting, books, bags, woodworking, ornaments, soaps and scents. There will also be a kitchen providing Bermudian cuisine. There will be ample parking at this centrally located venue, which is also wheelchair accessible. So come and spend a couple of pleasant hours shopping, with cash and green bags in hand.

Celebrate the season by running or walking to support the Bermuda Red Cross at MAAC’s annual Jingle Bell 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, December 11th.

This is a 5K route, starting and finishing at Bermuda Air Conditioning at Mills Creek. Walkers will start at 8.30am, followed by runners at 9am.

New this year is a 2K Kids Race, for 7 to 13 year olds, which will start at 8.30am.

The race fee is $30 for the 5K race and $15 for the 2K race, with registration available at www.RaceDayWorld.com.

The pastry chefs at the Hamilton Princess know that your kids just love all the cakes and cookies that come with Christmas, so they decided to teach them how to make some at their Kids’ Pastry Making Classes on Sunday, December 11th.

From 3pm until 6pm, they invite you to have your kids join them for a fun-filled afternoon cooking class in the Princess Ballroom, followed by a light dinner in Crown & Anchor.

Promising an uplifting and sublime selection of seasonal music, The Bermuda School of Music presents Joy to the World on Friday and Saturday, December 16th and 17th.

From 7.30pm at St. John’s Church in Pembroke on each evening, this joyous concert programme will feature the combined talents of the Bermuda Chamber Choir, the Bermuda School of Music Youth Choir, and The Bermuda School of Music Orchestra all led by renowned Musical Director Marjorie Pettit under the auspices of the Bermuda School of Music.

Pettit, who has taken a break from the Concert Stage for the last few years, is back with her talented group of performers, and better than

ever. Joy to the World will feature works by Handel and Bach, as well as a wide range of magical Christmas pieces both old and new.
