Show your support for cancer charity

• Can’t go another year in an unhealthy relationship? You know you deserve better but can’t seem to break free? Feel like you keep going in circles with the same old issues? Are you ready to start living a drama free and peaceful life? Do you feel helpless and like no one understands? If any of these resonate with you, then help is available at the Fresh Start: Relationship Education for Women course, starting on Thursday, February 18th. Fresh Start is a 12 week programme designed to give women the tools and support needed to live the life they deserve. From 6pm until 7.30pm, you are invited to join them on a journey towards putting love back into perspective and establishing healthy relationships with yourself and others. • Showcasing the delicious versatility of our era’s Martini Madness, the Bermuda Women’s National Volleyball Team are hosting a Martini Tasting on Friday, February 19th. From 6pm until 9pm at Gosling’s Wine Cellar, unconventional flavours are part of the fun as you sample the 5 different martinis that will be available for tasting, along with hors d’oeuvres. • Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art invite you for a special evening with Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine and renowned Royal Family biographer, on Friday, February 19th. The event will be held in the Butterfield Family Gallery and will begin with cocktails from 7pm, followed by dinner at 8pm. • MAMA (Meet-a-Mum-Association) invite you to eat, drink and give back at their annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser and Silent Auction on Saturday, February 20th. From 7.30pm at Discovery Wines, you can enjoy 6 wine tastings, expertly paired with canapés, in a mix and mingle environment. Last year, MAMA raised $4,715 for their deserving charities. This year, they hope to exceed that amount and are proud to announce that they will be supporting two deserving causes, Windreach Bermuda and the Wesley Methodist Food Hamper Programme. • Did you know that each chakra has a corresponding psychological and emotional life lesson? Join facilitator Karen Simons PhD for a weekend of self-discovery at The Wheels of Life: How to Know Your Chakras in a New Way on Saturday and Sunday, February 20th and 21st. This will run from 9.30am until 2.30pm each day at Angel Mews, 4 Riviera Road in Southampton. In this cutting-edge workshop, Dr Karen will simplify an esoteric subject and will give you the tools to help you stay healthy in body, mind and spirit by understanding the energy psychology of your chakra system. This training promises to empower you to shift your thoughts and feelings about yourself so that you can live more fully. You will begin to release your negative thoughts and feelings that stop you from experiencing happiness and wholeness. You’ll find out the thoughts and feelings that are hidden inside each of your chakras. This training will help you to understand yourself and others so much more. The fee is $250 and a deposit of $100 is due by January 30th. Full payment must be in by February 12th. Lunch and a chakra chart are included. • Join family, friends and the entire community on the journey to support cancer care in Bermuda at the 28th Annual PALS Walk on Sunday, February 21st. This year, the event route will start and finish at the PALS headquarters in Paget with 3k, 5k and 10k walk/run options, following an out and back course along the scenic Railway Trail with various opportunities to turn around. For more than 35 years, PALS has provided crucial services to the community at no charge to cancer patients who need them. Your support is critical to help the organisation continue to provide these services to 125 active patients who are in need of care. Cancer affects everyone. Together, we can memorialize loved ones, encourage cancer fighters and celebrate survivors by raising awareness and funds for PALS medical services, equipment and supplies. The registration fee is $25 for adults, $5 for children aged 5 to 15 and free for children under 5. • If you are expecting a little bundle of joy in 2016, then Parenthood: Birth to 6 Months Course was created just for you and starts on Sunday, February 21st. While prenatal classes focus on your pregnancy & birth, these sessions will give you information/open your eyes to ideas and thoughts that are out there, to prepare you for your new full-time job, Parenthood. These mini sessions will help you prepare for your new little bundle’s first 6 months and beyond. Classes will run from 2pm until 4pm at a private residence in Warwick on Sundays until March 20th. Tentative topics that are to be explored include: Your Newborn Baby is Here, Now What?; Soothing Techniques, Tips and Tricks; The Wonderful World of Newborn/Infant Sleep; Finding the Perfect Care Provider/Day Care/ Nanny for your Little One and Family – Don’t Delay the Search!; Have You Thought about Safety?; and so much more.
