Our system is not working
July 7, 2011Dear Sir,Once again, we are reminded that the jury system in Bermuda does not work. Now we have a criminal who has actually confessed to a murder, and the jury finds him not guilty. If this goes on, our excellent police force will lose heart and realise that their efforts to uncover criminal acts is just a waste of time, as no one ever seems to get convicted. This is a travesty, and once again proves that the jury system in Bermuda is not working. On quite another note, for once Senator LaVerne Furbert makes sense. In today's Royal Gazette her article on poverty in Bermuda is excellent. Anyone who wants to know about real poverty should visit India, or Africa, or even Jamaica. I bet there is not a household in Bermuda that does not have a television and at least one cell phone.PISCESPage
