New local brokerage formed
a local broker and global investment manager.
Ms Carolyn Hall, a broker and chartered accountant, previously worked for First Bermuda Securities for two years, where she said she was top stockbroker.
She previously worked at Merrill Lynch in Toronto, Canada.
Mr. Bob Richards, chairman of Gulf Stream Securities, is acting as the company's discretionary portfolio manager, handling global investment.
He is founder and president of Bermuda Asset Management and was previously employed by Shell International in Bermuda.
Mr. Richards is also a member of the Bermuda Association of Securities Dealers, a group of local securities firms which maintain standards within the sector.
The company is located in Craig Appin House, sharing facilities and resources with Bermuda Asset Management. The Bermudian firm is privately owned.
Gulf Stream Securities will be providing investment advisory and brokerage services, as well as related products to both retail and institutional clients in Bermuda.
The firm has trading capabilities in local shares, as well as international securities, in equities, bonds and mutual funds.
For international issues, Gulf Stream will use the clearing and custodial facilities of National Financial Inc., the wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity Brokerage, providing protection for investors with Securities Investor Protection Corporation.
