Man denies sexual assault charge
knowledge of a girl under 14, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of assault with intent to commit rape.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between October 1, 1985, when the accused was 11, and July 17, 1992.
Puisne Judge the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward set a trial date of February 8 when the man, who is represented by Mr. L. Frederick Wade, appeared for arraignment.
Calvin Shabazz of Devonshire was remanded to February 22 to stand trial on eight charges of stealing and fraud. He was remanded to March 1 on a separate charge of stealing.
All the offences are alleged to have occurred on March 2. Shabazz is free on bail.
Michael Anthony Burns, a.k.a. Durrant, 31, of no fixed abode, admitted he broke into a home between May 14 and May 30 and stole four bottles of wine, and took an auxiliary cycle without the owner's consent between June 26 and 27.
Burns also admitted he robbed a woman of a cash box containing $92 and credit cards on June 30, while he was armed with two knives.
But he denied he broke into a church and Warwick Secondary School between March 1 and March 9 and stole food; broke into Frienship Vale School in Devonshire between May 22 and 26 and stole food and other items; and that he broke into a home on May 30 with the intent to steal.
Burns was remanded in custody until January 4.
Davon Tavis Cann, 25, of Sandys, pleaded not guilty to importing heroin and possession of heroin intended for supply. Both offences are alleged to have occurred on August 11. Cann, who is free on bail, was remanded until January 4.
