Professionals involved in risk management can now earn the world’s only accredited risk management certification through an online exam.

Rims, the Risk Management Society, has earned approval to offer the Rims-CRMP certification exam online, meeting all requirements of the American National Standards Institutes to maintain its accreditation.

Rims said the certification is the only accredited risk management certification in the world.

The exam will be offered through Pearson Vue’s OnVUE platform, giving qualifying risk professionals to chance earn the globally recognised certification from their home or office wherever they are in the world.

Mary Roth, chief executive officer of Rims, said: “With risk management expectations soaring, Rims has not only made it a priority to accelerate the development of educational opportunities and resources that address current conditions, but, like many organisations, we continue to examine the delivery of our products.

“Beyond the immediate constraints on travel and in-person testing, becoming more digital is a long-term strategy for the Society. We are excited to unveil this new capability and support a broader, more globally diverse audience.”

Risk professionals interested in earning certification must meet the eligibility requirements; apply online; schedule their exam at a testing centre or online at www.PearsonVUE.com/Rims; and receive a passing mark. The Rims-CRMP exam was developed by risk professionals and tests them on five domains:

1. Analysing the business model

2. Designing organisational risk strategies

3. Implementing the risk process

4. Developing organisational risk competency

5. Supporting decision making
