championship race in the Commercial League Division A.

And now Fire Service, leaders of the division for most of the season, find themselves facing a must-win situation on Saturday against the team that have replaced them in first place, Robin Hood.

Rams -- and Allan Fray in particular -- were the toast of Robin Hood on Saturday after handing Fire their first league loss, coming from 0-2 down after just six minutes and 2-3 at half-time to win 4-3.

Fray's contribution was significant, as he scored in the 30th, 47th and 50th minutes to turn the match around for Rams who got off to the worst possible start when Theron Smith and Stephen Caines netted in the fourth and sixth minutes.

The first goal by Fray made it 2-1 but Alan Wilkinson restored Fire Service's two-goal lead with a goal in the 35th minute. Ross Lambe pulled it back to 3-2 when he netted in the last minute of the half.

However, within five minutes of the restart, Rams were in front to stay as Fray's two goals in three minutes rocked the division leaders.

That result helped Robin Hood's title aspirations when, following their recent 5-0 win over MR Onions in a make-up match, they beat Prison Officers 5-1 to move three points clear. Derek Thomas, Mike Stenhouse, Dominique Crithley, Simon Turner and Allan Mooney all netted for Hood who are now the only unbeaten team in the division.

Now Hood can all but wrap up the title with a victory over Fire Service on Saturday at White Hill Field. A win by Fire would take them top as they have a far superior goal difference.

The match has been brought forward to 11.00 a.m. and is the first of a triple-header involving two Alliance matches.

Defending champions BAA Wanderers squeezed out a 3-2 win over Mariners whose goals came from Carlos Lopes. In the other match MR Onions beat Lobster Pot 2-0 with goals from Gary Knight and Andrew Robinson.

In Division B, leaders PHC Raiders made it 12 straight wins with a 10-1 thrashing of nine-men Devonshire Lions. Des Minors led the scoring with a hat-trick while further goals came from Keith Bell (2), Vance Campbell (2), Yuossef Bousetta, Brian Anderson and Miles Smith. Gary Bascome replied for Lions.

Two Belco players were sent off as a 3-2 loss to Wolves Pack hurt their promotion chances.

Peter Rickards was ejected in the 86th minute for abusive behaviour towards the referee after Wolves scored their winner, while Michael Holdipp was shown the red card at the end of the game for a similar offence.

Belco held a 2-0 lead at half-time after Marlon Lindsay and Craig Brangman netted in the 19th and 43rd minutes. Wolves fought back in the second half and secured victory through goals from Casey Burgess (63rd minute), Horace Landy and Paul Douglas.

Second-placed Exiles opened a six-point gap between themselves and Belco with an 8-3 win over bottom team Bermuda Pest Control. Blain Tucker, Alan Johnson and substitute Craig Tyrrell all scored twice for Exiles while Craig Crichlow and sub Antoine Cannonier got the others. K.Francis (2) and S.Crockwell replied for Pest Control.

Ten-man Devonshire All-Stars came from a goal down at half-time to beat Somerset Extros 2-1. Lloyd Telford put the Extros in front in the 35th minute but Clarke Trott and Jeff Richardson turned the match around with goals in the 58th and 71st minutes.

Hunt's Sanitation suffered a 6-1 thrashing by Telford Electric in a recent friendly at Devonshire Rec. Leading the way for Telford was Aaron Williams who fired a hat-trick. Robert Williams, Tokia Russell and an own goal completed Telford's six-pack.
