When contacted by The Royal Gazette , Capt. Larry Mussenden of the Bermuda Regiment, which has its headquarters nearby, said: "It was definitely not the Regiment.'' TRAFFIC CONGESTION SPARKS ACCIDENT AC TFC Traffic congestion sparks accident A three-vehicle accident was blamed on heavy traffic congestion in the aftermath of a boat sinking earlier this week.

Police said as a result of the congestion in Flatt's where part of the 42-foot fishing boat Brightside sunk under water, the accident took place around 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

A Mitsubishi Colt, driven by a 29-year-old man, a Honda cycle, ridden by a 57-year-old woman, and the 33-year-old male driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer were all travelling west when the accident took place.

The stationary Lancer was hit from behind by the cycle which was in turn rear-ended by the Colt.

There were no injuries and the commuters agreed to settle the situation amicably.

MASSACHUSETTS VISITORS ROBBED CRM Massachusetts visitors robbed Two visitors from Massachusetts who were "enjoying the sun and sand'' had their bag stolen from a South Shore beach.

The victims told Police they were at Warwick Long Bay between 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday when their leather backpack, containing personal belongings, was taken.

The culprit was described as a light brown-skinned man, between five-foot, three-inches and five-foot, five-inches tall.

He was of slim build with a short, curly, reddish-blond afro and around 20 years of age.

He was wearing white shorts, white sneakers and a white v-neck shirt with the sleeves cut off. He was also carrying a black-and-white jersey over his shoulder.

Following reports from witnesses, Police combed the surrounding area of South Road and Camp Hill, but were not successful in apprehending the man.

CAMERA STOLEN DURING GOLF MATCH CRM Camera stolen during golf match Police were called to the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton after two visitors reported their camera had been stolen.

At around 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday the complainants were playing at the 16th hole when they saw two young boys riding a red motorcycle along the golf cart pathway.

As the boys approached their cart, one of them grabbed a brown leather camera case containing a Minolta 35-millimetre camera before they made good their escape.

Based on descriptions given to Police, both boys were later arrested in the Horseshoe Bay parking lot.

The boys, a 17-year-old from Paget and a 16-year-old from Southampton, were taken to the Somerset Police Station where they admitted the offence and also directed Police to where they had thrown the camera.

Bail was issued and both boys will appear in Magistrates' Court early next month.

LAWN-MOWER SNATCHED FROM HOME CRM Lawn-mower snatched from home A Mount Hill, Pembroke resident reported to Police the theft of his lawn-mower.

The man said someone took the lawn-mower out of his shed sometime between 9 a.m. on Tuesday and 8.25 a.m. on Wednesday.

In a separate incident, a thief with a sweet tooth broke into a Kitty's Lane, Hamilton Parish residence and stole some candy.

The occupant suspected the theft occurred between 7.55 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A Front Street piano store was also targetted by thieves.

Two Yamaha tone generator modules were removed from a shelf at Pianos Plus on Front Street last weekend.

RETURN HOME SPOIKED BY THIEVES CRM Return home spoiled by thieves A vacationing resident recently returned to the Island to discover parts of his pleasure boat had been stolen.

The Hobie Cat Sailboat had been stored on the slip in Stokes Harbour, St.

George's when the rudder and tiller system was removed sometime between August 30 and September 23.

The boat's mounting brackets and screws were also stolen.
