Strong interest as Ignite Bermuda prepares for next cohort
Some 70 applications have been received for the 34 spots available in the fourth cohort of Ignite Bermuda, the island’s privately-funded entrepreneurial accelerator.
The deadline to apply for inclusion in the cohort is today at midnight.
Applications are being accepted online at www.ignitebermuda.com.
The next cohort of Ignite begins in May.
Ignite said it continues to encourage applications from charities and their leaders for the accelerator programme.
Laura Lyons, Ignite manager and entrepreneurial enabler, said up to seven spots in the 34-strong cohort have been reserved for the leaders of non-profit organisations on the island.
Sean Reel, executive director of Ignite, said: “Bermuda is blessed with some amazing community leaders in the not-for-profit sector and their investment in developing their skills will have a massive impact on the community and its resilience.”
The current cohort, which wraps up next month, includes non-profit leaders Robin Hamill of the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, Truell Landy of PRIDE, Patrina O’Connor-Paynter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dany Pen of Raleigh Bermuda, Ann Spencer-Arscott of Bermuda Red Cross, Deborah Titterton Narraway of Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, and Laura West-Burt of Action on Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
