Some Berkeley students enrol in Bermuda College for credits
Thirty-eight Berkeley Institute students will be getting a jump-start on college credits after taking the Bermuda College’s Placement Exam earlier in the school year.
The S4 students are now eligible for dual-enrolment during the Bermuda College’s 2014 spring semester, allowing them to earn credits towards a college degree while they are still in secondary school.
“There is a keen sense of achievement in the air with this year’s senior students as they are all looking ahead to the next steps in their educational journey,” said Brenton Burgess, head of student services.
A total of 25 students qualified for freshman English and another six for college algebra. A further five students qualified for both subjects.
“We are extremely proud of our students as we pride ourselves as a diverse senior school with a rich heritage and tradition of excellence,” said acting principal, Keisha Douglas.
“Our students continue to uphold this tradition and their hard work and commitment to their studies has paid off. A special thank-you to our Student Services Department, our English and mathematics teachers who have assisted the students along the way and to the Bermuda College, namely Mrs Tammy Richardson, Mr Thaao Dill and Ms Necheeka Trott who continue to partner with us in the best interest of our students.”
