Michael Sims finished in a two-way tie for 62nd after carding a one-over par 73 during yesterday’s final round of the $650,000 Chile Classic.It was the first time the Bermudian pro had entered the clubhouse at over par for the tournament.The past Bermuda Open winner carded four birdies, a double bogey and three bogeys under clear skies at the 6711-yard Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago to finish the Web.com Tour event with a four-day total of four -under- par 284.Sims, 34, started the final round tied for 56th but failed to make a surge up the leaderboard.American Kevin Kisner (267) pipped compatriots Edward Loar and Brice Garnett by a single shot to claim the $180,000 winner’s purse.Kisner grabbed a share of the lead during Saturday’s penultimate round after firing a course record and tournament best 11-under-par 61.Americans Andrew Putnam, Guy Boros and Scott Sterling and Argentina’s Matias O’Curry all carded yesterday’s lowest round of seven-under-par 65.Sims earned exemption to some events on this year’s Web.com Tour after reaching the final stage of PGA Q School last December.The University of Rhode Island graduate shot a tournament best five-under-par 67 during the opening round of the Chile Classic where he also eagled the par five ninth hole on moving day to come in at even par for the second straight round.
