A summer seaborne invasion of visitors continued this week with more than 7300 cruise ship passengers hitting Bermuda's shores.

Topping the league table was the Horizon , which arrived on Tuesday morning at Dockyard with 1666 passengers on board.

The ship moves to Hamilton today, before starting back for its home port of New York on Friday afternoon.

Also out of New York, the Zenith dropped anchor in Hamilton on Monday with 1670 passengers. It moved to St. George's yesterday and will sail for home this afternoon.

And the Norwegian Crown arrived at St. George's on Monday with 1182 passengers. The ship, from New York, moved to Hamilton on Tuesday and will sail this afternoon.

The Norwegian Majesty arrived from Boston on Tuesday and berthed in St.

George's with 1250 passengers. It leaves Bermuda tomorrow.

The Song of America arrived on Tuesday in St. George's from New York and moved to Hamilton yesterday.

The ship -- on its 17th run to the Island of the current season -- departs tomorrow.

On the freight front, the Island's carriers brought in tons of cargo over the week.

The Bermuda Islander arrived on Monday from New Jersey carrying 135 containers, 18 of them refrigerated -- as well as a horsebox and two horses.

And the Somers Isles was expected to leave Florida and is scheduled to arrive on Sunday.

The ship is thought to have charted a course to take it safely around the hurricane weather currently threatening the east coast of the US.

Container Ship Management, agents for the Oleander , reported the ship arriving on Sunday from New Jersey with a total of 168 containers on board, 43 of them refrigerated.

The Oleander also carried 13 cars, one truck, an excavator, two cement mixers and three flatbed trucks loaded with steel girders. It left Bermuda on Monday.

Among the pleasure boats around the Island this week are the massive Tommy , a 175 foot long Bahamian-flagged motor yacht.

It arrived from Madeira in the Canary Isles for fuel and is en route to Miami.

And the Marsha Kay , a US-registered 118 foot long motor yacht, is anchored off Hinson's Island. It arrived from Palm Beach, Florida, and the next port of call is in South Carolina.
