Lasheika Mary Nicole Burgess, 20, of Westwood Land, Pembroke has denied three drug charges which arose after former Supreme Court clerk Shawn Crockwell stole a drugs exhibit from a vault in 1995.

She has denied possessing heroin, supplying the drug and handling it with intent to supply. The heroin came from a trial during which Ghanaian Jeffrey Kwasi Osborne was acquitted of importing the drugs into Bermuda. At the end of the trial, Crockwell stole the heroin exhibit, getting $24,000 from its sale.

He was jailed for ten years.
