Bermuda highlighted in Royal Caribbean '22/'23 cruise schedule
Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas will make 19 trips to Bermuda over next year’s cruise ship season.
The ship will make 15 voyages from Cape Liberty in New Jersey between May and October and spend two days berthed at King’s Wharf in Dockyard.
Bermuda will be the first stopover on another four cruises scheduled between May and August, when Adventure of the Seas sails on nine-night tours of the eastern Caribbean.
The news came after the company launched its schedule for 2022/23, with Bermuda highlighted as a favourite port of call.
A second Royal Caribbean vessel, Mariner of the Seas, will sail to the island from Port Canaveral, Florida in 2022.
The ship will also berth overnight at King’s Wharf on its six visits to Bermuda in May, August, September and October.
A spokesman for Royal Caribbean said: “City-dwellers can opt to recharge in the sun with 5-night Bermuda cruises to enjoy the island’s colourful culture, natural beauty and an evening out in the historic city of Kings Wharf during overnight stays.”
Next year’s total of 25 visits is down on this year’s schedule, when two RCI ships will make 42 trips to Bermuda from May if Covid-19 restrictions are eased.
Freedom of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas are scheduled to make 21 visits each this summer.
Glenn Jones, the interim CEO of the BTA, said: "The Bermuda Tourism Authority welcomes the return of safe and responsible cruise travel when the time is right and decisions are smartly guided by science."
