Bermuda 8 St Martin 0Tyrell Burgess scored four goals as Bermuda demolished St Martin to end their Digicel Caribbean Cup campaign on a high note at the Sylvo Cator Stadium.Despite the huge victory, Bermuda failed to qualify for the next round of the competition, finishing third in their group having lost to both Puerto Rico and hosts Haiti.Playing in front of a crowd of around 9,000, Bermuda took the lead in the 18th minute when Burgess headed home a Domico Coddington corner at the back post.Andrew Bascome’s side doubled their lead in the 34th minute when Burgess struck his second with a deft chip after being released by the lively Coddington.Bermuda continued to dominate after the break and increased their lead when Burgess completed his hat-trick after being set up by Coddington.Moments later Antwan Russell scored his third goal of the tournament with a neat finish. The Robin Hood striker then turned provider when his cross found Taurean Manders in the box with the diminutive midfielder making no mistake from close range.With the Gombey Warriors firmly in control, Bascome introduced Ian Coke and Lejuan Simons in place of Manders and Darius Cox.Midway through the second period Burgess added his fourth of the game beating the St Martin goalkeeper low to his right. Bascome then made his third change of the match, bringing on Ian Coke for Burgess, a switch that saw the pacey striker add his name to the scoresheet almost immediately after latching onto a John Barry Nusum through ball.In the 88th minute Bermuda breached the porous St Martin defence again when substitute Lejuan Simons netted his first goal for the senior national team.
