ABIC launches international business survey
The impact of international business on Bermuda's economy, property market, culture and diversity are just some of the questions posed to employees in the sector by the Association of Bermuda International Companies (ABIC) Survey 2009.
The online survey, which was sent out to a range of companies in the island's international business community by chairman David Ezekiel this week, aims to gather information and opinions from staff working in the industry to help ABIC and Government maintain the strength of the sector and those who work in it for the future.
The results of the anonymous survey, which features on a website maintained by PricewaterhouseCoopers, will also assist all of the local stakeholders in planning ahead to maximise the positive effect of international business on Bermuda and Bermudians.
Among the questions asked were: To what extent do you feel that international business has a positive or negative influence on housing, education, lifestyle, Bermuda's economy, culture, diversity, international profile/competitiveness, and access to education?, rating each on a scale of one to five (one being negative, three neutral and five positive).
Other factors taken into consideration were overall satisfaction with employer, working conditions, compensation and current level within company; whether you believe your employer offers equal opportunities to all employees; the chances of promotion and the chances of your company providing the necessary training; and whether respondents feel that international business has a positive or negative influence on Bermuda?
The deadline for submissions is April 20, with the analysis of results expected to be completed by May 30, with the findings released soon after.
