Reports ordered for youngsters
of damage were passed over for sentencing in Juvenile Court after social inquiry reports were ordered.
"You've never built anything in your lives but you know how to destroy things,'' Magistrate Carlisle Greaves told the youths, aged 14 and 12.
Both of them admitted to breaking into the Fairhaven Lane house on May 25 and spilling paint across the floor, scratching the bathtub and damaging two screens and three doors.
The 12-year-old also pleaded guilty to stealing a golf cart from the Pompano Beach Club on June 10 and joy riding it around Port Royal Golf Course with two of his friends.
The boys apologised for their actions but Mr. Greaves asked: "Are you musicians? I think you should go home and write a song and call it `I'm Sorry' because that's all you've been singing this morning.
"You go around hurting people and then say you're sorry,'' he said. "How would you like it if some one broke into your house and spilled paint on your bed?'' Mr. Greaves also chided the boys for not standing up straight during the proceedings.
He suggested they attend a special course that would teach youngsters how to hold themselves in a good posture.
"Don't they have cadet classes at schools any more?'' he asked.
