Cup Match vandals caused a nuisance for staff at the Admiralty House Park after tipping a Parks Department vehicle into the sea over the weekend.
According to Parks officer Craig Burt, the golf cart had to be retrieved yesterday by landscape and lifeguard staff at the park, after it was spotted in the waters around Clarence Cove.
The cart had been left at the park’s western entrance after running into mechanical problems on Friday — but was taken for a spin by intruders who then dumped it off the dock.
According to Mr Burt, the cart is normally used by Parks staff to collect trash for holding over the weekend.
The vehicle, which will be assessed at another Government depot, may have been badly damaged by seawater infiltration.
