Steel takes on AXIS post as Bohnke joins Tyco
Bermuda-based AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. has appointed Michael Steel as executive vice-president and chief risk officer, starting next month.
Mr. Steel, who will be based in the company's London office, will report directly to John Charman, CEO and president, and will assist him in determining and implementing the enterprise-wide risk and control framework that underpins AXIS Capital's strategic and financial goals.
Most recently, Mr. Steel was a director with Benfield Ltd. and Benfield Advisory.
Mr. Charman said: "Creating the chief risk officer leadership position and continuing to enhance a robust, market-leading enterprise risk management process are key elements of our plan to continue the AXIS history of operating and financial outperformance.
Tyco International Ltd. has announced the appointment of Jaime Bohnke, PhD, as vice-president of supply chain management.
Ms. Bohnke will be based in Princeton, New Jersey and report to Shelley Stewart Jr, senior vice-president of operational excellence and chief procurement officer.
"Jaime is a proven supply chain executive with a strong track record of implementing results-driven process improvements," said Mr. Stewart.
With a career in supply management that spans more than 20 years, Bohnke joins Tyco from Westinghouse Electric Company, where she most recently served as vice-president of global supply chain management.
