Campbell brothers lead the way in Junior Classic

Mitchell Campbell leads the 16-18 Division by four shots over brother Walker heading into the final round of the 2013 HSBC BJGA International Classic.

Brothers Mitchell and Walker Campbell continued their sibling rivalry during the second round of the 2013 HSBC BJGA International Classic at Mid Ocean Club.Playing in glorious sunshine, Mitchell (154) shot a five over par 76 — the day’s lowest round — to replace younger brother Walker (158) atop the leader board in the 16-18 Division with 18 holes left to play in the 54 -hole tournament.Mitchell started the round in third but took advantage of the ideal playing conditions and his brother’s struggles on the front nine to snatch the lead.Walker, the 2013 national junior champion, slipped into second after carding a 13 over par 84 that put a dent in his title hopes and left him four shots behind his brother after starting the round with a three shot cushion over Justin Dixon-Watts.Watts (160) shot a 12 over par 83 in the second round to slip from second to third. The lead also swapped hands in the 13-15 Division with Dakota Lamb (159) replacing James Robertson (166) at the top of the leader board after carding a seven over par 78.Robertson started the round tied with Mikus Ming for a share of the lead but fell off the pace after carding a 17 over par 88 that left him in second, seven shots shy of leader Lamb. Ming (174) slipped to fourth after carding a 25 over par 96.Taking advantage of Ming’s misfortunes was Brady Cordeiro (173) who shot a 14 over par 85 to climb two places from fifth to third.Kenny Leseur (186) leads the 12 and Under Division by eight shots over sole rival Joe Watson (194).Elizabeth Parsons (166), the sole female competitor in the tournament, shot 85 which included three double bogies and a triple bogey.Tyler Emery (51) leads the Novice Division by five shots over nearest rival Connor Smith (56).The tournament concludes today at Port Royal.
