There are 66 Belco customers without power this evening, after a fault in an underground Belco cable knocked out power for some 520 customers in the Harrington Sound area at 11am.

The company said it had re-routed electricity within an hour to restore power to 343 customers.

Power was restored to more throughout the day.

However, the final 66 remain in the dark around the area of Manor House and Lolly’s Well.

Although the company cannot say for certain how long the repair work will take, the job is expected to continue into tomorrow morning. Belco has apologised to inconvenienced customers.
