A stretch of Middle Road in Southampton near the Riviera Road junction is being dug up for Belco crews to fix an underground cable, the power company announced this afternoon.

The eastbound lane of the road by Waterlot Hill will be excavated for the emergency repair.

Traffic lights are in place, and will remain there until the job is completed by late Thursday afternoon. The company thanked motorists for their patience.
