Island's pros in a Ryder Cup-style two-day competition at Port Royal, starting tomorrow.

Twelve-man teams from the paid and unpaid ranks of golf will tee off at 8.00 a.m. in the first of three rounds for the Island Construction Bermuda Ryder Cup.

Tomorrow morning the teams will play alternate shots and the afternoon round will be two-ball, best ball.

And as in the original competition featuring the cream of American and European golf, the final round on Thursday will be individual match-play.

The pros will be captained by Keith Smith and the amateurs by Zane DeSilva.

A similar event played between teams of Bermudians and `ex-pats' was first held two years ago, but hopes of making it annual were dashed after the ex-pats failed to raise a strong enough team last summer.
