Many locals and visitors of Native American descent will be attending the Bermuda Pow Wow 2015: A Celebration of Our Ancestors at the St. David’s Cricket Club grounds on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14. Hosted by the St. David’s Islanders and Native Community, Native American people will meet together to join families and friends together in dancing, singing and drumming. This will be from 1pm until 6pm on the Saturday and from 2pm until 7pm on the Sunday, with the Grand Entry at 2pm and 3pm, respectively. Each day will include the Grand Entry, Libation and Dedication Ceremony, local and overseas Native American dancers, songs and drums, Bermuda Gombey dancers, craft and artwork stalls, other vendors and traditional St. David’s Island food. Registration is now open for Bermuda Gymnastics Summer Camp, located conveniently at CedarBridge Academy from Monday, June 29 to Friday, August 28 (nine weeks) and at the National Training Centre, St. David’s from Monday, August 31 to Friday, September 4. Promising an excellent summer of gymnastics, fitness and fun, the camp is an excellent way for children to try gymnastics for the first time, or for more experienced gymnasts to work on their skills. The camp is for boys and girls aged four to 11, of all experience levels and abilities. The mornings focus on gymnastics instruction, while the afternoons feature games, crafts, swimming at the National Sports Centre, and outings.
